Mystical creatures compete to stay in the storybook while you place hidden bets on their survival over several rounds. You play cards from your hand to alter the power levels of different creatures on a row, attempting to eliminate the one your opponents backed. The game ends after five rows are filled, and only the surviving creatures pay out points based on when you placed your bets. The plastic stones used for betting look nice, but the scoring system feels unnecessarily convoluted during your first play. It is a mean, abstract calculation masquerading as a fantasy game.
